So after months of checking head units out I decided on the Pioneer DEH-P980BT. I have been trying to pick one up on line and no one has them in stock. Is this unit at end of life and if so when do the new Pioneer HU come out?

This unit appears to be discontinued by Pioneer. The top of the line model I see listed is now the DEHP880PRS which is a carryover from last year and lacks the functions of bluetooth. If bluetooth is what you are after, consider the new model DEHP700BT or the Eclipse CD3200.
