Hi im looking for a pair of good SQL 18's to complement my 13.5s to help hit the lows hard, do you think that a kicker solo x 18 or a loaded BTL 18 would be a better choice?? im lookin for a sub that will sound great and hit a good range but loud... i've heard that the solo x 18 is very loud but its SQ is not all that great... any advice?

also can anyone suggest a good box desginer to build me a good box? how much airspace would produce the best SQ for both subs?

ive heard the BTL's can get pretty sloppy. the Q series is meant for SQ, isnt it?

thats what they say, but will it still get loud? the BTL series is for spl, but i've heard a lot of people that they sound good too, All i hear is a lot of hype off of manufactors booths and stuff, so i need a good unbiased opinon.

mixing different size and brand subs is horrible.

If your subs now cannot do what you want than it means your enclosure is poorly designed.

Simple as that

Subwoofer size has little to nothing to do with how low they will play...an 8" sub can play just as low as an 18 inch sub.

Enclosure design is key.

If a pair of these can't do what you need, you have SERIOUS thrill issues, my friend. Put those in a PROPER enclosure, properly powered, (and I mean a good, real-world 1500 watts each) and walk away from any of the products you already own or have mentioned, in both output and SQ. (By the way, "SQL" is a nonsense term, it's made-up.)

aznboi is correct, though. It sounds like you have a poorly designed enclosure, or are underpowered. I have a single 10, and I am hitting 23Hz flat, with USABLE output. (In reality, it's two 10s, but it's isobarik, so I only have the driver surface, and thus output capabilities, of one 10" woofer.) What exactly are you using as components right now? Manufacturer NAMES as well as complete MODEL numbers.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
