I have a 98 Cadillac Deville and im having trouble getting infromation on how to install an aftermarket HU and what brackets I'll need. I usually get them from crutchfield but they dont have specs on this year. The HU im going to be installing is the Kenwood Excelon KVT-717. Also, if anybody could give me some input or suggestions on some comp sets. Ive narrowed it down to either 2 sets of Infinity Kappa 50.9cs for the front doors and rear deck or JL Audio VR525-CSI for the front door and JL Audio VR600-CSI for the rear deck. The amp I'd be using for the comps would be the Rockford Fosgate Power T600-4 or T400-2. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

All you have to do to get the factory radio out is the following:

1. Carefully pull out on radio trim bezel.
2. Push tabs in on sides of factory stereo, slide radio out, unplug, and remove.

The Scosche mounting kit would be GM1584B and the Metra mounting kit would be 99-2004.

I have a Kenwood deck, and infinity speakers. I can't speak on behalf of JL as far as speakers go. I can vouch for the Infinity's though. I also have a Rockford Fosgate amplifer in the mail as we speak. I'd imagine the JL's would be the more popular choice, however, if it were me I rather be a little different, and go with the lesser popular brand.

on this car its better if you run the power and accesory from the sterring column because the factory harness loses power after 30 minutes and you will lose the memory on the car

If i get the Metra GMRC-03 GM Data Interface Harness hooked up will that prevent the memory loss? i saw a couple other threads where people were having that problem on caddies. Also this model has steering wheel controls if i hook up the Metra ASWI-JACK adapter would this make them still operable? Thanks for the help.
