Batcaps' have been out for a while. I bought one early on and really couldn't tell the difference with or without it. The $200 + could have been else where. Don't forget energy used from a cap or a battery must be replaced hense you must make power not store it. Spend your money on a HO alternator, do the Big 3, and buy a quality battery.

Agreed.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I'm originally from just down the road from Xstatic, the makers of Batcap.  Very early on (even before they had their building on Hwy 84 posted_image ), A buddy of mine bought one and we wired it up like they said, both the amp and the car battery run to the batcap terminals.  About 2 days later, we were driving around and his car just died.  The batcap drained all the charge out of his battery and was sucking everything out of the alternator till that fried too.  We tried returning it to them and they said, "Oh, sorry, you didn't have us install it, so we can't guarantee it."  Needless to say, they got a few colorfull words and we walked out, refund in hand.  A new alternator, Optima battery, and a good "real" cap later, and he was on his way again.

I agree with audiocableguy--upgrade your battery and alternator, but skip this waste of money

ive used them in some of my setups and ive had nothing but trouble, just like bpotter said i had mine drain my battery about twice since i had it for only two months. just a waste of 200 dollars. for the money buy a HO alternator and upgrade the big three and youll be good to go
