i know everyone se this thread and is gonna kill me for the idea of using a cap but hear me out! i have 4 cvr 12s and i am only pushing 300 watts to them as of stock electrical and a red top under the hood. thing is, the guy i bought the subs from is a shop owner in dallas and he seemed to know his stuff! well he had a 20 fared cap and 1 yellow top under the hood with STOCK electrical and was hitting well over 140s. i couldnt even sit in the truck. my question is, how was it that loud with stock electrical and a cap? i always hear bad things about caps. but he told me the extra battery would be liike 100 fared cap or somehting. but my alt. woulndt charge both red tops sufficiently. so should i get a big cap with a new amp or a new alt? with the same battery, or a extra battery in the back? any help would be awesome!

Im running a TC Sounds TC3000. I running an Arc Audio FD1200 thats puts out 1100w RMS. box is ported tuned at 30hz. My headlights dim. My voltage never drops below 12.5. I would skip the Cap and buy a battery. I just ordered a kinetik.

Of course the the best thing to do would be to buy a HO alternator.

audible loudness is different from a single pressure point reading on the dash.

Bravissimo!!! This is what I've been trying to tell people for YEARS!

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

A good article.  Of course the green graph is exactly what an SPL competition vehicle is designed for - and way too many people who "just want it loud" end up with, while the blue graph is the one that might sound good.

Anyone with a 140db vehicle who drives around with it performing at that level will very soon go deaf.  Please understand that if you are in a vehicle producing over 100db SPL you really need to wear hearing protection.  https://www.dangerousdecibels.org/hearingloss.cfm

oh that explains some. i already understood a little of that. but i want a VERY bright AND clear picture! lol. i think my system is very good for musical performance and actually has good sq for 4 12s in an spl box. very punchy. the kind that hurts your chest. but in fact one day i do want to go to a competition and see whati can do. so the little green number would do me justice for that one time! but the blue graph all other times. lol. so other than HO alt. wat can i do to help with, more power, more stability, and less voltage drop?
