Hey I've got some old pioneer speakers, a car battery, and an oldish kenwood stereo. I've heard of people Hooking up a trickle charger to the battery and just running the system like that... can it truly be so easy?

Im just wondering... cause my boombox is crapping out now and the dang thing no longer runs CD's.

Any alternatives are great too. I'm looking to get the job done for like $40 or less if possible.

power supply is what you need.

I have a 25 amp power supply from radioshack and I can run a HU and a 200 watt rms amp from it without tripping the built in breaker

The trickle charger should work, as long as you don't run the thing 24/7.
