i bought a scosche fm modulator to use my mp3 player.

my questio is, do i need to use the switch that it comes with? or can i just connect the power and jump the wires to the switch together? the frequency is 88.3 which ive never even listened to.

I would connect the switch. The modulator can interfere with other radio stations when it is on and not being used.

to add to what Jeff said, most fm mods totally block other stations, so without a switch you can't turn it off to listen to regular radio.
