so i am going to get a 200 amp alternator for my explorer andi have a red top now but i was wondering if i can use the 200 amp alt. and my everstart battery for under the hood (750 cold crank amps). kinda would like to get some moeny for the red top if i can get away with stock battery. i am doing the big 3 also when the amp comes in. any info on this would be great

Since the battery's main purpose is to start the vehicle, sure you can use the stock battery - assuming it is in good shape of course. :)

ok great. thanks dyohn. it is in perfect shape. everstart batterys are really awesome. it got me about 30 minutes of drivng when my alternator went out and i got it tested and it still has a full charge. so there will not be any stress on the battery then? also i have another question but dont wanna post a new bulletin as its a yes or no question. when i turn my ac on now my battery gauge jumps a lot like a long bass hit would make it do. it used to not do that. does that mean my stock alt. is going out?
