I have a Chrysler Crossfire Roadster. After talking with three different installers at three different shops, all are in agreement that there is just no room for a sub box in this car. There is a tiny bit of room in the trunk, but the top folds down in there and the fuel tank is between the trunk and the passenger compartment. There are two tiny spots behind the seats where some 6" pseudo subs go with the factory infinity system, but the seat backs are tight against these spots and they are too shallow to hold any real sub.

So, the plan is to just go for a single set of components in the doors with plenty of power to them and hope for the best.

Head Unit: Blaupunkt Hamburg MP68
Components: Crossfire X6
Amp: Crossfire XP6004 bridged.

There is a slight possiblility of fitting some 6x9's behind the seats, but the installer thinks running more power to the X6's in the doors would be just as beneficial.

I am open to opinions, the install is scheduled but I can still change my mind.

have you considered 6.5" subwoofers in the rear? a pair of them driven by a couple of hundred watts should give you close to what you are after. Definetly a lot closer then a good pair of components up front.

I know Kicker make some 6.5 subwoofers

Please tell me that the reason you are using Crossfire equipment is because you like them and not because the name matches your car.

Actually, I just ordered a pair.

The plan right now will be to run the two subs on the two rear channels of the XP6004 amp, so they will only be getting 75 watts each, but should still help.

No, Crossfire happened to be the higher end line that my local shop carries and I have heard nothing but good comments about their amps and speakers. It is sort of cool that the name matches the car, though ;)

I think the kickers will work well with the system you have. Considering that they are 4ohms and I'm sure they will bridge the two subs to the amplifier, I think the amp will put closer to 300watts into a single 2ohm load.
