Hello the12volt.com

I have a Blaupunkt Sw 130.1 Subwoofer and wish to build an enclosure for it. I brought the subwoofer on the cheap from an uncle's freind's daughter's etc, but I don't particularly want to just go out and but a pre-fab enclosure as I want to build one that will be right for this particular subwoofer.

I am ok in the woodworking area but what I am not all to familar with is converting the subwoofers Thile Small parameters and other misc infomation into the relitive internal volume needed for the enclosure. I am more after SPL than SQ but I'll take it as it comes.

If someone in this wealth of knowledge was able to tell me what volume enclosure would best suit my subwoofer this would be much apperciated

I also know that the volume of the subwoofer and the volume of any braces used in the box need to be taken into consideation.

Blaupunkt SW130.1 Subwoofer

Maximum Wattage 400w

Nominal Wattage 200w

4Ohm SVC

Frequancy 25Hz

QTS 0.56

Sensitvity 94dB

thankyou for all time and effort put in to any infomative or "smart" replys

No sorry I don't know the Vas of the woofer, I only have the infomation I have given.

I have emailed Blauplunkt plenty of times as to get some infomation on enclosure size and/or any greater detail on the woofer specifications but to no avail.

Bump

Hello again just thought I'd bump the topic back up as I am still looking for an answer.

If someone could give me even a rough estimate it would be better than the idea I have now which is none

Qts of 0.56 generally means the woofer requires a large sealed enclosure or is best suited to infinite baffle or dipole installation.  Without knowing the Vas (at least) there is no way to predict an accurate enclosure size.  Try putting it into about 2.5 cuft sealed and see how it does.

Thanks for the reply

By the sounds of that the Vas is a relatively important piece of information.
