Im looking for a decent set of component speakers around $300. What would everyone suggest?

I suggest you grab one of your favorite CDs and go shopping. Listen to speakers and choose the ones you like the most.

I agree with Dyohn....We could get 20 different people on here tell you 20 different speakers to go with. In the end, you're going to be the one listening to them everyday, so go find something YOU like. you do have a pretty good budget, so you'll have quite a bit to choose from. Who knows...maybe you'll like a pair that cost 150, and save yourself some bucks too....... : )
