Hi Everyone,
I am installing 2 amps into a 2008.5 Mazda3. One is a 4 chan amp for the fronts and rears and the other is a mono amp for the subwoofer. My problem is I am using the stock HU and there are no RCA outs. Both amps have speaker level inputs. The 4 chan has 4 speaker level inputs and the mono amp has 2 speaker level inputs. How can I hookt his up not using RCAs? Can I run speaker wires to the speaker level inputs on both amps or is that not how they work? I was thinking I could just run all 4 wires from the HU to the 4 chan amp speaker level inputs and then connect the two rear speaker level inputs off the 4 chan amp to the 2 speaker level inputs on the mono amp?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I have always been nervous about having speaker wires run 15 feet through the vehicle. I have always been much more comfortable using Line out converters. I know you will need to buy 2 of them. At 20 dollars a piece, that is not really that bad considering the alternative. With the cost of some of the newer output chips in the newer radios, and the ever increasing difficulty of finding a reputable repair shop, 40 dollars is not a bad price to pay. There is just so many chances to run a screw through a speaker wire if you run them to the amp. Also if you use the LOC and install it behind the radio, if you do decide to change the radio, you will already have RCA cables ran from the deck to the amp.
yeah i always use a l.o.c, but if ur lazy like me, just hook it up in the trunk, but do you stock speakers?
