Well here goes... I have a 01 GMC Denali, it has the BOSE factory set-up, i currently am in the process of Installing a 15" Eclipse Aluminum Sub powered by a 1000watt Audiobahn Amp. Here's where it gets tricky, i am NOT a fan of the looks of an aftermarket headunit unless it is a screen or NAV unit wich i cannot afford! Soo, what ive done on my last 3 vehicle was simply tap into the rear speaker wire and the AMP i run has a low frequency filter or LPF or whatever it is, so i just get the lows into the sub. Well my question is, I have never done this with a vehicle that has a factory amplifier such as the BOSE system in my SUV. What do I need to do to make sure nothing gets inturupted or breaks while installing my SUB+AMP with the rest of the stereo factory? Or will everything be the same as when i did it on my last vehicle and forget that BOSE even is there?? Any input would be appriciated big time! ~ Thanks guys.
if you have the factory sub you can tap your hi/low converter there, the wires at the sub are Brown (pos) Yellow (neg) if you dont have the factory sub you can get a signal at the amp wich i believe in under the center consoleand those wires would be as follows
RR+ Dk. Blue
RR- Lt. Blue
LR+ Brown
LR- Yellow
good luck
