In my car, 1995 Saturn SL1, I am running 2 bazooka EL1500 mono channel amps and 2 12 inch pioneer subs. The other day I happened to notice that the bass was deeper all of a sudden....and I liked it. Then as I was working on the car one day I noticed that the 15 amp fuses were all blown (4 of them altogether)on one of the EL1500's. I replaced them and the sub sounded like it was vibrating in the enclosure and took away bass from the other sub. As I put in the 4 fuses I noticed that the rubber surround was starting to get frayed from rubbing on something I had in the trunk. So I bought a new sub and still it doesn't sound as deep of bass as what it was with only a single 12 inch sub.

Why is this?

we need more information. You have not told us how the subs are wired...what enclosure they are in. If they are in phase relative to each other. How the gains are set.

Sounds like you have one of the woofers wired up backwards.  Reverse the wires on one of your woofers.  Only one woofer do not do both of them.  Even if you have it wired correctly, there may be a phasing problem between the 2 amplifiers.

1.its a mono channel 500 watt amp.
2.1-12 inch sub per 500 watt mono channel amp.
3.They are in a custom fiberglass enclosure tucked in the corners of the trunk.
4.Each amp is set at 3/4 level between min and max...crossover is set at 1/2 way between 40 and 130 htz....and bass boost is 3/4 between 0 and 12 db.
5. each sub is wired the same...positive of speaker to positive of amp and negative to speaker and negative to amp

Internally.    Did you try reversing phase on one of your woofers?

You don't have to wake up the neighborhood to tell the difference.  It can be noticed at low volume.
