Hey guys, I always here the phrase "Non-Name brands are cheap!!" How true is this??? Honestly im not into the competition thing, but I do like loud bass, I really don't care how I get it as long as its clean. I have been installing for about 9 years, and I always use what they call "Flea-Market Stuff". Anyways I know its different from the common brands i.e: Rockford,Kicker,Alpine,Sony,Clarion or whatever. My question how much of a difference is it. I want a 4,000 watt Pyle amp and I know its not comparable to a Rockford 4,000 watt, but how much of a difference is it??? Is it still alot of power even though it may not truly be 4,00o???

You said " I really don't care how I get it as long as its clean."  This is generally the first thing you lose with flea market brands like Pyle.  Their distortion numbers are through the roof compared to most mainstream brands.  As far as their 4000-watt claim, I assume you are talking about their PLA4300 subwoofer amp?  That is actually a 400-watt amp that is supposedly capable of creating 10-times that (4000 watts) in a millisecond transient peak.  This rating is completely bogus.

Between those two? Flip a coin... Your results will be about equal. The RF is marginally better as far as the latest generations are concerned. There WAS a time when RF was a way better product, but that was years ago, and even THEN, I wouldn't have EVER installed it in my car. Mediocre fidelity at best is all I have ever heard from RF.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Thanks guys!!! and No its not a trick question. I just don't like investing alot of money into it. I just want the best for the amount of money I want to spend but I a least want 2400 of true wattage, but I dont want to spend $200.00....Yeah Im cheap!! I normally us Power Acoustik, but Im trying to stay inexpensive. I not any competition person or anything. I do pro live audio, and we can almost take any amp throw a crossover and EQ on it and clean it right up!! What is the best flea market brand??? If I want to go that way???

If you work in pro-audio then you should understand that you get what you pay for and that cheaping out is the last thing you want to do.  Crap is always crap, no matter how much to you try to pretty it up, and in the pro sound world fails regularly.  Nothing more embarrassing and expensive to your pocketbook than a failed piece of gear in the middle of a gig because you went cheap.  For $200 I suggest you buy a used good quality amp, not a new piece of garbage.

Dyohn's first post answered your question, but I think your asking a larger one. "Im on a budget, why should i spend more money on equipment and will i really notice a difference."

I can appreciate your tight budget, you should think in terms of "value" instead of "cheap". Think about what your trying to accomplish, and your long term goals (if any)for the audio system.

I had a system in my truck combined completely of low end stuff: 10" pyle sub, jensen 2way 6.5's in the doors, 2way pioneer surface mounts behind the seat with 2 boss amp, 1 jensen amp, and an old JVC cd unit. The point of this system was to provide me with loud tunes will out camping, 4x4'n around and if i sunk it in the river, no great loss. I enjoyed having a system to crank around the bonfire!

My daily driver at the time was what I consider mid-grade stuff, Premier deck, 12w3, jbl amps, premier components upfront, no rearfill. I enjoyed this system to, i spent about 2.5 hours a day in this car and wanted a full sound that I could enjoy at any volume. Something to get me started in the morning and sooth me on the way home.

There is no doubt that others will tell me my daily driver system is s**t. But comparing it to my truck it was an upgrade. While it had its short-comings the daily driver was a better system, and I could hear it when listening to tracks that were familiar. IMO even the truck system was far preferable to stock systems, I'll listen to the road over or talk radio over stock. But you need to think about what will make/keep you happy.

If your thinking about buying a 'cheap' amp look for amps that are at a discount from reputable sources. Look: https://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=120&i=489AP400&tp=115
and
https://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=120&i=575P250P2&tp=115
Both are 100.00. Tell me those amp will perform the same. Tell me there is NO difference in the quality. Tell me why I should buy the profile amp... They claim the same wattage and one has a 25 amp fuse the other a 40. Both are class a/b, dead giveaway. You should be looking for a deal, think value, not cheap.

the comparison of your flea crap 4000 watt amp would be comparable to a real 400 watt amp.
