i have an question about temperature.

is there any danger of damage involved with playing subwoofers during the very low temperatures of winter?

i live in michigan and during the winter it can go between slightly below 0 degrees Fahrenheit to just below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, during the middle of winter.

should i play my system at lower levels until it warms up? or will well built subwoofers not have a potential to be damaged by these temperatures?

thanks much.

Most materials will "stiffen up" at those temperatures. The only part I would wory about (and very little, if at all) would be the adhesives holding the surround to the basket and cone.

If you are that worried about it, just wait a while 'till your cabin warms up a bit before you crank 'em.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I live in Michigan and have never had a problem yet. You do hear (usually) a difference in sound from your sub(s) in the winter though but that is another topic.
