anybody have problem with the pioneer 4000 not reading the ipod when hooked to the usb

Is this the AVHP4000DVD or the DEHP4000UB?

its not supposed 2 read the ipod from the usb, go 2 a stereo shop and pick up the cd-1200 i think thats the item number

Yeah, the AVH4000DVD doesn't interface with the iPod through the USB. You need the Pioneer iPod cable. The model is cdi200, should be about $30-35.
