I have a pioneer deck and alpine amp to run just the sub. I have the subwoofer output from the deck connected with rca cable to the only spot on the amp that will take rca cables. Is this right because the sub isnt working. The amp is turning on, the power and ground are good.

Do you have a speaker hooked up to the amp? Have you tried a test speaker? Is the sub wired inside the box? Is your sub out turned on and up? Is the gain turned up at all on the amp? Do you know the RCAs are good and not grounded out? These are all diagnostic questions that you need to answer first. Your solution should be within these steps. If not, then you need to try another amp with the same wiring and if it works, then your amp is bad.... Hope this helps! GL!
