i have a cva-1006 think of up grading this unit is about 4yrs old.can i swap with a newer alpine iva-d106 or will i have problem with wiring and other thinks.

You will have to rewire the unit. The plugs are not the same on the newer units. The wire colors are the same but the housing of the plugs are different.
