Has anyone installed an Alpine CVA-1000 with a DVD/VCR? I've spoken to other installers about it, we've heard of it being done, but I would like to know if anyone has a diagram or wire colors.

I believe they do make an adaptor though, called the "KCE-100V". it's an RGB-to-RCA convertor. Try searching online for it and you might find it available somewhere, though you'll prolly have to get it from somewhere internationally as I don't believe it is sold in the US, for legal reasons.
You can wire an video source into a cva1000, but you will either have to splice into the display's cable or splice into a nav cable.

ok so i bought the cable now what.. i get video displayed for only a second and it goes back to navigation system not connected...?!??wtf!
