Hi All... First post and I am hoping someone can help me here. I recently purchased a 2004 Volvo S40(not the 2004.5, this is the 1.9L Turbo). My front speakers are blown and the factory stereo is a complete piece of junk. I am trying to find the correct parts to fit this car but there seems to be a complete lack of information online about it. I am looking to spend $500 or less on a new head unit and some front speakers(4 of them). Crutchfield knows nothing about this car and I can't find a thread of information on what would fit. I think it may be a 2X width head unit. I have installed a few car stereos, but I am hoping I can find something that is more or less plug and play with an iPod connection. Can anyone give me suggestions on this?? I would greatly appreciate any help from some of you whom know a lot more than me on the subject! THANKS!! Not sure how much longer I can live without my iPod!

i believe that car is almost entirely fiberoptic when it comes to the interface electronics like the radio. you may be hard pressed to find some thing that will work .  the speakers are usually 6.5 three ways and can accomodate most component set ups .  you may have to spent a bit more money and go completely aftmkt on this one if you intend on going around the FO system
