Let me just say "I'm OK..." Peeved about the car... I freakin' LOVED that car.

Ended up under the rear bumper of a Lexus when he "had to panic stop at a photo-enforced intersection". He was already IN the intersection, stopped halfway over the limit-line, shortening my stopping distance by a good 10 feet... Slide... Crash...

Totalled. 4700 worth of damage, and the car is worth 6100... So, after deductible, I'll be coming up with about 5600 dollars in my pocket.

So, I'm looking at a 2000 Tacoma Long Bed, which will EASILY fit into my settlement check... Suggestions for a system anybody? posted_image

That really sucks man.  But I am glad to hear you're OK!

So I'll be happy to come pull all that old crap gear from your old system out of the totaled car and make it go away.  For you, I'll do it free.   posted_image

Sorry about the car...At least you were not on the bike...

As far as system suggestions go, I have this 2000000 watt rms audiobahn and 14 capassitors that you can have to hook up some 6x9s in prefab boxes if you want.

You could start with a   "Dual XHD6425 which seems to be a fantastic stereo"

Glad you are OK,  If you take the suggestion above, you may not be OK after that.

^^^ that is exactly what I was going to suggest, closely followed up with some Volfenhag and Audiobahn.

How 'bout a Chrysler or GM, haem?  It's about time you stepped up.

Here is a good choice to use for a tweeter:

https://www.acousticdev.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56:ceradome-tweeter&catid=38:uncategorized&Itemid=60

Dan's designing a crossover for me using that tweeter and my Mpyre mids (4 ohm version of the Extremis).  I'm using the Eclipse 7200mkII for a head unit which may work for you as well.

And if you really want to play, you could get some bass in that small cab using this sub:

Whatever system you build, you *MUST* remember to use plenty of caps.  Big-ass ones from Sony.

I say cut the bed and cab, port thru with 4 each 18's and 6 each 12's, use a few Hifonics ISIS to run that, in the cab you can run a couple slim mount 6x9's in the visors and in the doors.

For those of you who don't believe I have *MAD CAPS*, and for those of you who keep saying to yourselves: "That dave... all the time, blah, blah, blah... Him and his caps..."

This one is with Shadow sitting next to it for a comparo... Shadow weighs about 100 pounds. This, by the way, is the SMALL one!

The specs on the small one... That's 2.8kJ... Yes, KILO Joules!

posted_image
There's the big one. I didn't feel like moving it... Too damn heavy!

posted_image
Specs for the big one. 9.2kJ...

These are the discharge caps once used in the original implementaion of Shiva, the early Lawrence-Livermore LASER system used for fusion experiments. They come from different stages, I wouldn't be able to tell you what stages they were, but I got that story from the guy who GAVE them to me! LOL

So, like I said... I got MAD caps! Bigguns, too!

Damn, Bob... that stings!

Anyway, I'm getting it fixed. I "bought it back" (called an "owner retains" in California) from the insurance company, and I will be paying for it out of my own pocket... Well, with the help of the REST of the settlement check...

I'll be rollin' in style, all repainted and purty again, in 4 short weeks! Those guys REALLY need to hurry! Riding the bike without tunes totally sucks!

That sort of damage often occurs when your enclosure is too large, the driver experiences over-excursion, and you exceed the mechanical limits of the system.  posted_image

Anyway, no, I WAS paying attention, and it WASN'T Jennifer (this time), it was Jason Mraz - Butterfly, track two from his newest release, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. (recommended, BTW...) I remember it well! posted_image

Wasn't a jab Dave. Was seeing if you wanted help building pods for your truck. But, I'll guess if you are fixing the car this is not necessary.

I know it's a Honda, but I couldn't help but to put some Suzuki graphics on that baby for you.  You will have to use your imagination for the ratchet straps that now hold the hood down.  Was looking for a logo from a B'field winery but no luck so I put some barrels instead.
