Alright, for some reason my brain is not functioning at all tonite. I currently have a Profile AP1000M running to an Resonant Engineering SX d412 put into a series which is running at 2 ohms. I'm looking for something with more power. One of my choices for the money is the Kenwood KAC-9103D Kenwood KAC-9103D which is a mono amp and will run 900 RMS at 2 ohms. But i heard that you can always tell how much RMS an amp has by taking the fuses and multiplying them by ten (Example: 3 30 amp fuses means 900 rms) Not quite sure, but the fuse rating on the kenwood is 30x2, which, if that statement was true, would mean that the amp is actually 600 rms. Anyways the other amp that i'm looking at is the Profile AP2000 which is a 2 channel amp Profile AP2000 The differences between the two are the Profile runs the 960 watts at 4 ohms and has 4 25 amp fuses while the kenwood has 2 30 amp fuses, and the kenwoods THD is 1% compared to the profile which is .05%. The profile's signal to noise ratio is also higher than the kenwood's. Keep in mind that this is running to a d4 12 in a custom ported box.Which is the better buy?

If the coils are wired in series then the amp is loaded to 8ohms, for 1/3 the power.

I don't care who likes what. I know what i like and i know how to make a stereo sound good. I'm not stupid. i was more wondering if anybody here had those amps, and they're feedback. Not who likes what.

Don't take the advice too personal. Lots of people have had experience with the 2 amps you mentioned and are just trying to lead you in a better path.

Well then let me know what's a better amp for 250 bucks that will push 900 RMS. I have a profile AP1000M and its lasted longer and is clearer than every one of my buddies systems. They've had everything from rockford amps to kicker, alpine, memphis when they've all spent around 600 bucks on an amp. Most everybody over rates their amps including and espescially rockford and alpine. I think for the money you can't beat profile amps. So what if they get warm, take the cover off them.

For only pushing 500 RMS to my sub hitting 148 is not bad and having sound quality to boot

So when your amp gets warm you remove the heat sink? So that's what I have been doing wrong...
