go 1000/1 for the 12W7.  The sub is rated at 3 ohms so bridging the amp may produce problems.  The 500/1 is too little power for that subwoofer.

I wouldn't ever put that amp on such a high quality woofer as the W7. 500 watts per channel? I don't think so... Not in it's wildest dreams.

If that amp make 250 real-world watts TOTAL, on a GOOD day, I'd be surprised. They sell on Flea-bay for 55 dollars. "Chrome Plated"! "HUGE"! If that's the case, the heatsink alone would COST 15 to 20 dollars. That doesn't leave much to design and properly implement the gutty-works, build it, and then ship it here from China, does it?

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Slash 1000/1 for that woofer.

Actually 500 RMS would fall almost directly in the middle of JL's recommended power . A 500/1 would be fine especially in a vented enclosure. Going to the 1000/1 would give you 3 db more volume for almost twice the money. Not really worth it in my book.
