Hello everyone. I got 01 cavalier 4 Dr. I am wanting to replace those stock, 4X6's they are wornout. Plus I am wondering if a set of Pioneers or JBL's 6 inch or 5.1/25. Just wondering if anyone has did these with out the templates?.

6.5's or 5.25's fit nicely behind the door panels with a 3/8" or 1/2" spacer. If you want to do components, most sets will fit with a 1/2" or 3/4" spacer, though I personally haven't tried using a 3/4" spacer yet. It looks like there might be some clearance issues with the panel, but supposedly a ton of people have done it without issues (like I said, I haven't seen it yet so I'm not sure).
