i have a 05 f-150 that i am making a new center console with a sub firing down.  There is a box on the top of the tranny tunnel, in the middle of the seats that says restraint system.  Is this going to be a problem with a sub firing pretty much right at it.  Im not sure if this is for the air bags, i could not figure it to be anything else

Would you be able to unmount it and move it to one side or the other?  Disconnect the battery before attempting.  Vibration caused by the sub WILL damage the electronic components inside the box.

it has an arrow that says front so it makes me think it is placed specifically.

It is most likely part of the sensors for the seat belt system, including the sensor's that determine whether there is a passenger in the passenger seat and whether they are wearing their seatbelt and if the air bag should be turned on.  I would make sure before tampering with this to disconnect the battery, and this may also void waranties, so be careful with what you do.

That box is specifically placed in that location with that orientation.  It houses a lot of sensors that trigger airbags, restraints etc, etc.  I would avoid moving it and firing a vibrating jackhammer into it.
