I am upgrading my system to include a Kenwood KAC-9104D and two 12" Kicker CVR DVC 2-ohm subs. I do not understand why there are four speaker terminals when the amplifier is a mono class d. How do I wire these subs to the amp using 4 terminals?!?! I am stumped please help...Thanks!!

to run your two 12's on this amp all you have to do is

1- wire each sub independently to one positive and one negative

or

2- you can paralell the subs and connect them to one of the positives and one of the negatives

Several mono amplifiers include two sets of output binding posts simply for convenience in wiring multiple speakers.  The amp only has one output and like described above, you may use either positive and either negative, or both.  It makes no difference.

The important thing is that you wire the woofers themself correctly.  If you want to use all 4 terminals of the amp, you should wire each woofer as in the following diagram.  Connect one speaker to one set of terminals of the amp and connect the other speaker to the other set of terminals of the amp.

Option 2 (series) = 4 ohm load
Voice coils wired in series
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono

If you want to use only one set of terminals you should wire both woofers as in the following diagram.

Option 2 (series/parallel) = 2 ohm load
Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 2 or 1 ohm mono

That is great info, I really appreciate the feedback. Would I want to run the subs at a lower ohm to get more power? (2 ohm vs. 4 ohm load) Also if I want to only use one set of terminals on the amplifier should I run two wires from one terminal or one wire from one terminal and splice the speaker wire to the second subwoofer? It doesn't sound safe to splice a speaker wire....

You can not run those subs together at 4 ohms.  Your 3 choices are  (.)5 ohm,  2 ohms or 8 ohms.
