I need to drill a hole to get 5 gauge power cable through the firewall. I found a place thats safe to drill through, its right above where the alarm guys drilled. I've never had to drill such a big hole through metal, not sure exactly what bit to use. i bought a step bit from harborfreight, but I'm not sure how much confidence I have on that thing.

They're pretty easy to use, just be careful when you get to the step before the right size. Otherwise just grab a 1/4" drill and then use a 5/8" drill.
