anyway to make a pioneer more dim?

I have the Pioneer Premier 800BT double din and I have the dimmer hooked up and it works but not enough. At night when im driving my car its just to bright I drive with my arm in the way of the light because its just blinding, Is there anything I can do??

You can always replace it with something good... :)

If you already have the dimmer lead hooked up, does it change the display brightness when you dim your dash lights, or is it just one dimmer step? If it is one dimmer step, you're done. If not, you MIGHT be able to connect to a different switched 12V lead in your dash, and make it go to it's MINIMUM brightness by applying a maximum voltage to the dimmer lead. (That makes no sense at all, does it?)

By applying maximum available voltage (14.4v) to the dimmer lead, the dimming will be maximum, and obviously, he could then bypass the dash dimmer. I asked about the adjustable dimming, because the voltage on the dimmer lead in the car will be higher or lower, adjusting the brightness of the Pioneer's display based on the voltage present on the dimmer lead, depending on where the rheostat is set.

Well it doesn't dim with rest of the lights, but it doesnt matter anyway right I mean all I have to do is use the illimination turn on from the car as a turnon for a relay and then send the head unit 12v right? Its a Toyota MR2 Spyder if it makes any difference. How many volts do you think its sending now?

There is an ORANGE / White wire on the back of your radio, What is it connected to?

Its wired to the cars illumination wire
