Does anybody know what the ohm rating is on a 2005 Element factory sub? Or the ohm rating on the factory amp?

I'm doing nothing. A friend of mine is wanting to replace the factory sub with a JL Audio 6.5" W3v3 sub that is 4ohm. He said when he took out the factory sub there were two sets of wires going to it (as in it was dual voice coil) I dont know for sure if it is or isnt, or what the ohm rating on the VC's are. I told him to just buy a small amp and do it that way, he said he will but for now just wants to hook it up to the stock amp (ohm load handling unknown)

if he took out the sub, why didnt he just measure the voice coils? seems easy enough. just asking.

That's a good point, and I honestly didn't think of it.
