I have a 1999 honda civic coupe with one twelve and a 600 watt kenwood amp, and my sub is rumbling when the cd player is on with no volume. I checked the ground wire, speaker wire, and rca's. They all seemed good.

The sound doesn't affect the way subs play, but I would just like it to stop.

is ur rca running next to or near ur 12v. it could be raidiant noise. best to have rca and 12v running on seperate sides of the vehicle.

Do you have a Pioneer Deck?

I have an identical problem,

The Car: 2005 Acura RL, with Bose, Nav, 6-disc In-dash Changer

Installed: 2 JL W7, Alphasonik amp, audio control epi-center, grabbed the signal off of the factory sub in the rear deck with a L.O.C.

The Problem: Low level noise that plays through the subs, it varies with engine RPM only between 1000-2000 rpm's. And the noise will go away when any door is opened. It doesn't matter if the trunk is open. Car must be running. The noise will usually go away if it's driven a short distance(50-100ft).

I fixed the problem. After first changing the ground connection and adding higher grade rca cables, the problem still persisted. So I decided to swap out the amp for a new one that I had lying around, and the rumbling was gone.

So I just needed an amp that could properly handle the sub.

In the Acura, did you leave the factory subwoofer connected?  If so try disconnecting the speaker.

I find it funny that 99.9% of the time this does nothing to solve problems. One of the many Urban problem solving legends.

What's even funnier than that is the fact that people still recommend this process to eliminate noise.

The Acura subs were disconnected and that was the line i feed the high low converter to get a signal to run into the amp. I added a secound battery and the problem still there. i spent a lot and now getting fustrated because of the rumbling.

I was told that Acura doesnt allow third party (sub system) to be added on thats why im getting the noise. He also advise me to look for a relay to see if i can bypass it. Anyone have any idea on this?
