active subwoofer wiring

I have installed an active tube subwoofer in my Toyota, I also have a Pioneer DEH-P740MP HU and a 1000watt 4 channel amp. The amp is for the spkrs only, as the sub has a built in amp. The sub needs a 12volt feed,(which I ran from the battery with an inline fuse),and the sub has blue LEDs in it. It also has a remote wire, ground, 2 spkr. terminals for L+R, and a pair of RCA inline jacks, which go to the HU, to control the sub from there. Do I need to run the 12volt feed (for the sub) off a switch accessory from the HU harness, instead of the battery, so the LEDs don't stay on all the time, also do the sub RCA jacks from the HU, connect to the sub RCAs, and if so what is the correct proceedure to tune the sub from the HU, without as much bass going through the spkrs?

The LED's dont turn off and on with the remote wire?

Do I connect the 12 volt feed for the sub to a switched/accessory wire from the HU, instead of the battery? The HU also has a sub out RCA jack, as does the sub itself (input RCA )if I use that can I control the sub separate from the spkrs from the HU? I should have just bought an amp and a passive sub, but I thought this would fit better in my truck. Kind of confusing since I don't have a wiring diagram. I don't want all the bass going through my spkrs, and since I have to tap into a L+R spkr and connect them to the sub, I don't have any way of controling the bass through the spkrs and sub separetely.

there should be 3 power connections for the amp. 1 power from the battery just like you did, the other to ground, and the third is the remote turn on from your stereo. use the blue wire at the back of the stereo, it will turn the amp on and off with the stereo. and use the sub out RCA jacks on the back of the unit as well. you should be able to have some control over it with the stereo that way.

Thanks, I have everything connected except the RCA line in on the sub. Do I still keep the 2 L+R spkr wires connected on the sub, and what makes the LEDs turn off, as long as the 12 volt feed from the battery is connected, they stay on. Is it possable they turn off after the remote power is turned off (maybe they time out) after a certain amount of time? I am also using the same remote wire for a 1000watt amp as well as the sub amp. I know the remote wire doesn't carry a big load, but should I use a different wire for the sub remote, if there is another one? I think there's a power antenna wire, but not sure if there's power to it. Have to check that.

once you are using the RCA jacks you need to disconnect those speaker wires. the remote wire turns on the amp inside. even if its connected to 12v from the battery, which it should be, it turns it on and off so that the amp wont stay on and drain the battery. using the turn on to power both amps on and off will be fine.
