Ok I have an Eclipse CD8454 stereo system. I try to play CD's on it, but the only thing that comes up is INFO 6. Another problem that I have is using a memory stick I recently bought, its also does nothing but gives me an INFO 6.
So any suggestion for either problem, I would really appreciate it.

Are you the original owner of the head unit? Go to your Eclipse dealer for assistance. ------------- Support the12volt.com

INFO 6 means the unit is overheating, and probably has a defective laser pickup. ------------- Support the12volt.com

Ok so I just have to take it to a dealer and have them fix it?

No. NO dealer can fix Eclipse units, because Eclipse doesn't OEM their parts to anybody. It'll have to be pulled, and shipped out.

Ok but do you know the format a memory stick has to be in order for it to read it? I have a sandisk ultra II but once i insert it nothing happens

The INFO 6 error code has nothing to do with a memory stick. The head unit is defective. You will have to get it repaired. Your local Eclipse dealer can also tell you about memory sticks that are compatible with that unit (usually it is about how they are formatted.) But until you get the HU fixed, a memory stick just won't matter. ------------- Support the12volt.com

Re: memory sticks. 128MB is the biggest it will support, and it must be FAT formatted; it doesn't support NTFS or the Ultra II sticks. Locating a compatible stick today will be like finding hen's teeth... Been there, done that, but check the Lexar website. I searched fleabay, using "Lexar memory stick 128" as my search words, and found two for a buck each.

I have a problem with my unit as well. I bought it in 2005. Its a eclipse 8454 and every winter it seems to have a problem I dont know if its because of the cold weather or not. I put a cd in and it wont read it. laser makes funny noise and then it says INFO 3. Radio works fine. I had this unit sent in 2 times already under warranty. warranty just ended a few months ago. I dont know why this keeps happening. is this model unit known to be defective? it is great when it works. any suggestions?
