im trying to decide on a new sub, since i just fried my infinity. Im gonna be powering it with a jl audio a1400 amp rated at 400w rms at 2 ohms. the box i have is a 12" slot port box. so i need help deciding what to by. i listen to a lot of rap and hip hop with heavy bass. i want a rumble but i want it to not be muddy. these are the subs i found that look like they match the power for the sub pretty good.

12W3V3-2 - JL Audio 12" 600 Watt 2 Ohm Subwoofer
Item#: 76212           $209.99
15-M3124D - Memphis 12" 800 Watt DVC Subwoofer
Item#: 15-M3124D           $219.99
PSW412 - Alphasonik 12" 500 Watt Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer
Item#: PSW412           $99.99
V-Max 12.2 - Cerwin Vega 12" 600 Watt Subwoofer
Item#: 74506           $139.99
P2.5 12 - MMats P2.5 12" 400 Watt Subwoofer
Item#: P2.512           $159.99

im probally gonna expand the system to have 2 12"s subs in slot ported boxes and add another amp to power it correctly. if any other info is needed let me know and ill get what ever i can. also the system is in a 91 isuzu rodeo so theres plenty of air space in it.

Ok the all dreaded question about which sub is better..... well after being in car audio for.... well along time ..21 years to be exact, I have heard and seen it all ... well almost all, first it depends on what you want to achieve, SPL or SQ or both .. me personally I have both in the same vehicle and the subs chosen are not because of some world record setters claims, but of my own personal choices, I have ran Alpine,Clarion, Kenwood, Kicker, Fi, MTX, MMATS, JL, Orion, Pioneer, Soundstream, and all the rest .. Litteraly ALL of them and I chose to go with Digital Designs subs and mids, because of the fact that no they may not be THE BEST but I will promise you they have outperformed ALL of the others , now I will say this your BOX is 90 % of the battle in SPL or SQ , If you want to use your airspace and really impress yourself first and then impress others second try this.... Digital Designs 9512 series 12" subs, 2.75 cu. ft per sub in a seperate chamber box or 5.5 cu. ft. common chamber box , 88 square inch port , 16" long.  that design will be more than enough to do both spl and sq, but..... you might want to get a really strong amp like, a kicker 2500, hifonics 2006x, jbl 2000, or even a Digital Designs M3, or Z1,  give it a try
