2003 bmw e60, subwoofer, amp

Hi,
I have an issue with BMW E60, 2003.
After i have installed a subwoofer, after some time playing the sound just disapears. Not only the music, but also the NAV voice, and and even the warning sounds. After some time it turns on again and palys for dome time, and again the same.

The installatation: AMP connected using hi-level inputs, from rear speakres, i have used a 16 square mm cable for + wired directly to battery and ground wired to chasis.. No other interruptions to the car. The amp is swithced on manually.

So as i understand that this could be done even by a 5 year old child. But my general question is WHAT DID I MISS in this installation everything to work normaly, i feel that it is car related.
If any additional info is needed just ask.

Disconnect the speaker wires from the input of the amp and see if the problem goes away. It sounds as though the internal amp of the radio is overheating, and turning itself off to protect itself. If this fixes your problem, you need to purchase a line output converter. I hate using the high level inputs of an amp, reason for that is you have speaker wires running through the car with a chance to get grounded out. This may be your case here.

Sounds like to me that you have a wire touching somewhere, or a ground coming loose. I had some problems just like that and that is what is was. A wire was hitting the body of the car.

If i disconnect the amp input, the sound apears immediatlly.

O more thing tat i have noticed, that if i am not driving the car, the sounds does not disapear, it happens only when i am driving.

I have ceplaced cables today with thicker insulation, the cable are not touching ground at any place, and they are not loose. I have checked all these things today.

Connect only the positive wires from your radio to the positive input of the amp.  Insulate the negative speaker wires from the radio.  Ground the negative inputs of the amplifier.  Notice I said to insulate the negative wires that come from the radio.

Thanks, But no help, sound dissapears when i start driving max within 5 minutes.

Should i use the hi level to low level converter? should mod help?

There is no doubt that the line out converter will work.  I have never used the high level input of any amplifier.  2 reasons for that are, 1 they may or may not have floating ground inputs.  That is why we tried without the negative speaker wires.  2,  it is not safe, in my opinion, to have speaker wires running the entire length of the cabin of the vehicle.  Too many chances to pinch or drive a screw through a wire.  Make the speaker wire as short as possible and run the RCA cable through the car.
