alright, this is my first time posting here. I just bought a eclipse EA4000 4 channel on ebay and it should be here in the next couple of days. I've got 4 speakers and 2 tweeters im wanting to hook up. All 4 speakers are 4 ohm kicker 6x8's. The tweeters are pioneer 7/8" 4 ohm. The tweeters are already ran to the speakers up front and ran to the headunit as of right now. I was worried that hooking the tweeters inline with the front 6x8's might would change the ohm load to the amp? the tweeters do have built in crossovers. I think i could do it this way but just want to make sure before i mess with it. Just need to know if that would be fine or how i could wire it. Thanks in advance.

Aren't there tweeters already integrated into the 6 by 8's? What model #s?

yes the 6x8's are 2ways but they are really low in the door in a 2000 mustang, so i thought i could put the separate tweeters in factory mach 460 position and have a lil bit better highs. Door speakers are 08ks680 and tweeters model number are pioneer ts-t110. Thanks.

If you use the tweeter and the crossover that came with it, it will change the ohm load only at the frequencies played by the tweeter, there is so little info at those frequencies, your radio or amp will never know that they are there.

so it should work and not have any problems? The amp shouldn't go into protection? Also will i still be getting decent power to the 6x8's in the front since the amp puts out 75wrms at 4 ohms or will it send half to tweeter and half to the 6x8? sorry probably a stupid question. lol. Thanks.

also does the same thing you just said about the crossover apply even if it is a built in crossover on the tweeter or just for an external crossover? Mine is built in on the tweeter. Thanks.

Built in or external, makes no difference. The tweeter will not get half of the power. It will get half of the power at frequencies above the crossover point. Frequencies below the crossover point will all go to the 6x8.

i have the same amp also but make sure u get a decent crossover to get a better sound out of your tweeters
