Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. I have successfully hooked up my car audio system. I have:
Two dual 4ohm 15' CVr's(wired parallel for 1ohm load), a powerbass ASA-1000.1D amp(2000 watts max), and pioneer premier p780mp head unit. All running on a 50amp fuse,good power; ground wire, and kicker rca's. Also a red cap optimum battery in the trunk.
My dilemma is that every time i turn my bass nob up a little, the speakers would loose the bass line from the song, pause, and start making weird bass noises not following the bass line at all of the song being played, and then just go haywire sounding like it is overloading and the speakers will blow. If i turn the radio off while it's going haywire and then turn it back on, the bass is clean as if nothing ever happened. Eventually, the process will happen all over again as soon i make adjustments with the nob.
Can someone please give me some insight on what might be the problem. All input and solutions are greatly appreciated.

I promise to you that that amp is struggling to deal with the 1 ohm load.
Check your gain, and XO point. The amp is shutting off to "save" itself.

That's kind of strange that it is struggling since it is a class d mono amp. Is the XO point one of the options on the amp? It does shut off. Is it a installation error on my part. I really need to fix this. I don't want to fry my amp. What exactly is it trying to save itself from, if you don't mind explaining?

the class of the amp has little to do with anything except efficiency. personally i think you might need a little bit bigger fuse than a 50A but this isn't the cause of you problem. make sure you have a good ground on the amp. and i would suggest not running your setup at 1 ohm. try switching to a 4 ohm load and see what happens. a subwoofer isnt a machine with static properties so they are not always at 1 ohm some times its more some times its less depending on what the sub is doing at the time. when you turn up the bass knob you are making the amp and sub work even harder and hotter so it goes into protect. try backing off the gain on your amp if you want to use the bass knob too and rewire your subs to a higher ohm load
