Lanzar in general is O.K... Better than crap like Pyramid, Boss, etc...But I'd spend a bit more and at least get something like Pioneers..Even better would be something like Boston Acoustics or Infinity, but those cost more.

I would stay clear or LANZAR! Save your money and buy a reputable name brand you will be much happier in the long run. If you tell us your budget and what size speaker you are looking for we can try and make some suggestions.

I need 6x8's and I have $100.00

You can get some outstanding 6X9's for $100. At sound domain they have some MB Quart DCT169  on sale for $109 https://www.sounddomain.com/sku/MBQDTC169 I have tried many 6x9's and have found these to be some of the best.

If you are working with $100, I get them. Get the Vibe Series 6” x 8” Two-Way Coaxial Speaker . They are a lot better than your band name and do the same job if not better. Keep in mind that when you are comparing, you have to compare it with apples with apples and vice versa. Value wise, you still have enough money left after your purchase and get yourself a cold beer to drink while you are installing your new speakers in. posted_image

Vibe makes some pretty decent equipment for the price but remember one thing. Don't expect the world from these speakers. As with most things, you get what you pay for.

please keep to yourself when you dont know what you are talking about...

So do the vibe speaker have a good RMS rating?

Posted By: pilot_chris

Duh Big Purds! Lanzar makes the vibe series amps and make their speakers which is what we're discussing here. When I said "Vibe makes..." I was of course speaking of Lanzar. I have owned some Lanzar audio equipment so I can speak of the quality of it with confidence. Have you ever owned Lanzar equipment? If not, then you should be the one keeping your worthless opinion to yourself.

Hey Cbr629. I had the alternator custom built here in my home town since I didn't trust most of the online retailers - I mean how do I know it puts out the amperage they say. Having one custom built here with a lifetime warranty cost me $200. Yeah that's a lot for a Cavalier alternator but it'll last a lot longer than that stock one that was in there that my system destroyed!

Do you have the name and number of that guy? Life time warrantee on a high output now that’s rare.

Posted By: Big Purds
Date Posted: March 18, 2003 at 10:34 AM
so what is the amperage of your high output alternator pilot?

cbr if you want a good high output alternator, contact dominick at irragi alternators...I believe his email addy is dominick@tds.net

he builds great alternators at reasonable prices...there are not many other sources I would take over his products, and especially for the money...I have a 250A alt in my car that dominick built and its great...

Don't buy an alternator online bberman1 since you pay a ton on shipping and have no proof that it's rated amperage is what the seller says it is. Here's the info on where I got mine:

Michiana Rebuilders
1-800-627-4812

My amp is rated at 225 amps at 2000 RPM and 95 amps at 800 RPM.

lmfao, I just phoned michiana rebuilders and he said NO LIFETIME WARRANTY...keep stringing your stories...

plz someone else phone that phone number and talk to Jim...the guy told me he doesnt even make 225A alternators for Cavaliers...talked to him quite extensively...he seems to really know his stuff and was quite accurate in most of the things he said...

in all honesty I wouldnt hesitate to buy from him...but he told me he cant build an alternator thats good for more than 200A...even in the Cavalier...his idle speed amperages are good though...may be worth a look, cuz he definitely has a good price on them...

but again, he said NO LIFETIME WARRANTY...he laughed at the thought when I talked to him...

Lanzar currently makes 3 series of component speakers, the VX, Vibe and Viberant.  The 6x8 Vibe series (VB57.2) are rated at 240 watts max and should be priced around $60 a pair.  The 6X8 Viberant series (VBR275) are rated at 240 watts max and should be price around $40 a pair.  The 6X8 VX series (VX572) are rated at 180 watts max and should be priced around $35 a pair.

I agree with others that there are better speakers around but many considerations must be factored in.  I see you are working with price but also fit is a consideration as the vibe series has a large magnet and some holders won't work with these.  MB Quartz is a great speaker but not for all budgets and not for all cars.  Personally I don't like the sound of them, but that is my opinion.  I think in comparison to stock speakers the Lanzars are a step up but certainly not the best nor the worst.

Personally I like the sounds of my ACX693 Audiobahn 6x9 225 watts RMS with swivel tweeters.  I sure others wouldn't like them but for me they sound nice.

As for some of the other posters, I don't know why rudeness is necessary.  One man's trash is another man's treasure...what sounds good to you might sound bad to me and vice versa but your opinion only matters to you, if you like it enjoy it but don't expect others too...and on and on

Let's play nice and get along, please

bob

Thanks a lot fellas,I will call about the alternator and I just met a guy with a complete Lanzar system, including the amps and to tell you the truth it sounded pretty good. He also said the amp comes with a 3 year warranty...

remember when you talk to Jim, ask him about their "Lifetime Warranty"...lol...

but all joking aside, he seems to really know his stuff, and I am sure will be able to hook you up with a good alternator...you dont plan on competing with this system do you?

Yeah you can get some nice amps off eBay for real cheap but make sure the seller has a ton of positive feedback! I don't know if Pyramind owns Lanzar but I don't think it does.

I don't think so, but even if Pyramid owns the company, they are still seperate. Otherwise Lanzar wouldn't exist.

Lanzar and Pyramid are part of the same company, but the Lanzars are a higher quality amp thatn the typical Pyramid amp which we all poke fun at...

the parent company is responsible for manufacturing a large portion of the products that are available almost everywhere at budget audio prices...but as I said, degrees of quality arent all the same...some products are better made than others...

they may be a slight improvement over stock, but I wouldnt spend too much money for a "slight" improvement...personally I would save up for a bit until I could afford a good upgrade...

what vehicle is it again? some stock systems really arent that bad, especially when comparing to low end speakers...
