i have been reading about the LOCs and how to use them when hooking up an amp and sub to the stoc radio i was just tryign to clearify before i do it though because it is a freinds car i am doing this is what i understand so far....

tap the LOC wire into the speaker wire (keeping the polarity the same) in the rear deck of the car and then the RCAs from the LOC into the amp... or i can tap into the wire behind the stock radio and then run the RCAs from the LOC up front all the way to the back.... please someone let me know if that is accurate or i am missing something. Also where can i run the remote wire that plugs into the amp from? thanks again for you help

btw the setup is a kenwood kac-x20 on a mtx 7500 thanks again

It is always a better idea to install the LOC behind the radio.  If he decides to change the radio out, the RCA cables are already behind the radio.

one problem, there are no speaker wires behind he stock deck in a 97 taurus. the actual radio is in the turck mounted to the driver's side rear wheel well. what you see up front is basically a wired remote and display with a tape deck

You can also pick up the switched 12 volt power supply on the trunk sidewall, along with the speaker wiring as stated.  The amplifier will be on whenever the car is running whether the deck is in use or not.  That is not problematic.

Yep, do it all in the trunk.
