I'm new to this forum and I hope I've posted this in the right section.
I'm trying to install a Sony CDX GT310 radio into my car and I have a small problem regarding the wiring of it and need help.
Basically I'm trying to install it into a 2000 VW Bora which requires an aerial booster (picture attached), but I don't know where to connect the blue power lead of the aerial booster. According to the sony manual there is a dark blue lead on the wiring harness which connects to the aerial booster but the only problem is that the dark blue lead on the wiring harness is connected at both ends as detailed in the sony manual and so I can't connect to this without cutting it.
Has anyone ever had this problem or can someone please explain to me where to connect the power lead of the aerial booster lead too. It's probably simple to sort out but I just don't know what way to wire the aerial booster and any help would be greatfully appreciated.

If you do not feel like cutting the blue wire of the deck, you could connect the aerial wire with the red wire of the radio. This will power the booster anytime the ignition switch is turned on.

I don't know if you looked at the sony manual for my car radio (a link which I posted above).
But if i'm understanding you right I assume you mean to connect the lead into the double connection of the switched/continuous power supply.
According to the sony manual the yellow lead is the continuous supply and the red lead is the switched power supply.
The double connection is on the yellow lead but I have had to switch the yellow and red lead connections around as detailed in the sony manual (power connection diagram b) so that the radio stores the radio stations because when the yellow leads where connected together the radio would not store the radio stations. So now i don;t know if the yellow lead with the double connection is the switched or continuous power supply.
Yellow = continuous Red = switched. Ideally the amplifier should be connected to the blue wire of the radio, but if you do not want to cut that wire, connect the antenna amplifier to the red wire of the radio. This will power the amplifier anytime the ignition is on or in the accessory position.
