I have a pioneer 5700 flip out that just recently stopped working. Ive had it for 3 years and never had any issues. I checked all the fuses and they all check out fine. My bass setup is 4 12l7's but i dont see that causing my problem. Do you guys have any idea of what else could have caused my deck to shut down and just stop working? thanks

if you have kids you should check the cd slot for loose change

Try checking the power going into the actual deck with a multi-meter. I know you checked the fuses but check the voltage behind the radio.

well there is power going to the unit, because when I would turn on the car the screen would flip out automatically but not give me any picture on the screen nor would the buttons light up on the deck. There has to be power going to the deck since the screen flips out on its own.

Did you try resetting the radio. Disconnect it for about a minute or two, then plug it back in and see what happens. There is a ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard. It is defective, it is available from pacific coast parts. Their webpage is down at the moment. I will get you a part number whenever their page is available again. This is probably not a job you want to tackle on your own. I charge 80 dollars labor to do the job. I think the cable is around 60 dollars.
CNP8806 is the part number. It is 36.60 plus S&H available at pacparts.com, 1800-421-5080

wow for some reason I go to check the power with a volt meter this morning and I turn the car on for my dad to show him it doesnt work and all of a sudden I push the button on top of the screen to close it and the screen turns on! I have been without music for the past 4 months for no reason at all! I am a very happy man right now, thanks everyone for your input, it is greatly appreciated.
