Hey you all....I just put an amp in my truck, its a 400W Kicker, I put it in and when I connect everything I keep blowing the Fuse, its not on...I mean when I hook up the power..Am I doing it wrong....any help would be appreciated...Thanks
Was the power wire that you install in your car is band new one along with your amp? Or was the power cable already in and working with an amp that you have previous? I am assuming that you just install the power cable along with the new amp. If this is the case, check your power wire and see if the power wire wasn’t accidentally cut during your installation. Go back to your work and recall if you came across any sharp edge that might have accidentally cut the power wire. If you can be a bit more specific, we might be able to help you more.

I'm blowing the fuse in the amp.....and there was an amp in it before that worked and everything
Make sure the fuse is high enough and make sure you have a good ground connection. My friends ground connection was a bit lose and it kept blowing fuses..

The first obvious clue that comes to my mind is that you have connected the ground and power into the wrong slot. If it is wire incorrectly, this will cause the fuse inside your amp to short out everytime you connect the power to the amp. Check your terminal and make sure there isn't any loose wire touching when you are tightening down your power and ground wire.

Also, is the fuse in the wire higher amperage than the one in the amp? That'd explain the amp fuse blowing instead of the wire fuse in any case if it is. They should be the same.

Is the amp new or is it used? If used it might be bad.
