Had a friend inquire about adding a sub amp to the factory system in a 2008 Malibu. The car has the information cluster in the dash, if that makes a different. He wants to keep the factory system, the bose amp and all, just add a sub amp and sub. I'm thinking that a way of doing this is by using a PAC SNI-35 off the rear output of the radio (prior to going to the Bose factory amp). Would there be any problems with this?

I got the install done easily. There was nothing fancy about the car--the dash snaps together, starting with the trim around the shifter and moving up. I used the PAC SNI-35, tapped into the rear outputs of the factory radio. Because it had an amp, the colors of the wires coming out of the radio were different than standard GM. Brown and Brn/white were the left rear out, brown is what I used for positive. Blue and tan/red(?if i remember right) were the right side. I used blue for positive. It was interesting that each channel from the radio on front and rear all had one conventional color as the typical GM wires--and all those conventional colors were the same as the positive colors.

I built a sealed enclosure 1.10 cu.ft. for a single P1S412 that was powered by a P300-1 amp. It sounded decent and he (the owner) was happy.
