I'm looking to upgrade the head unit in my truck. Currently it has an older JVC unit in it and I was wanting one I could run my MP3 (Sansa E260) through. I've been looking at the Pioneer Deh-p4000ub. I was wanting some advice or oppinions on this unit. In the near future I am also wanting to add a couple 10s under my rear seat also. Is this a good unit or would you recommend something else? Thanks guys.

There are so many good headunits out there these days it really a matter of taste and how you like the layout of the controls. I would say go to several big box stores that have sound rooms and play with as many as you have time for and see what "feels" right, then check the specs for an AUX input and a sub woofer output. A 4 volt output on that sub line would be recommended. There are tons of features that vary from unit to unit even withing the same brands, so that's really gonna be on you to determine what you want. For example if you want to add XM/Sirius later on you will need to look for one that is SAT ready as you really don't want to use an FM Modulator and input on anything if its avoidable. Same deal if you want to had HD radio or a cd changer, you will need to be sure that the unit you buy now has the controls for those addons if you think you may want them.

I hope you find what fits your taste and get it put in properly,

Thanks for the Reply. I have looked into a few units and I like the feel of this one. And it has the USB and AUX in. Hoping it will read the Sansa through the USB. if not I can run it through the AUX still. My brother used to have this unit in a Mustang before he toltaled it and he liked it. I was wondering if any of you had any bad experience or negative feedback on it before I completely make up my mind. Thanks again.
