Hello everybody..... I would like to pick somebody's brain for a
minute, I have a question about box construction; here it goes:

When building a ported/vented box, the important parameters are
the size of the box, the diameter & length of the port and speaker
data,,,,, is the shape of the box important ? does it have to be
square ? or can be irregular in shape, i.e. around the wheel covers
in the back of the SVU and with an angled side that form a
triangular shaped box ?. I'm designing the box to meet the required
volume for the subwoofer, and to leave the maximum room for the amps
and other procesors in the trunk.

Thank you very much for any help or advice....

Have a nice day

Roberto

Sure, people make custom boxes all the time, like for Camaros/Firebirds. I wouldn't make it too obscure though.

Go for any shape you can think of. You shouldn't really make a squared box anyway. Just make sure that you measure the inside volume of the box so it can be tuned correctly(no point in going all out on the box costruction if it's going to sound like crap).

Hey, would making a spuare box behind a mini trucks seat connected to a venter console be too crazy for porting. I want to port, but Space is a big issue...
