Im going for the best sound quality i can get for under 200 bucks for just a single 10 sub in a sealed box, i already have an alpine 500 rms @ 2 ohm amp,   I was really looking at the infinity kappa perfect and possibly the eclipse sw7000 or alpine type-r.  Any other sugestions? and which out of the 3 i picked do you think has the best sq, thanks

Type R sounds like crap in a sealed enclosure..the eclipse sub would be your best bet

Look at the AudioPulse woofers, too! Fantastic SQ, and they work really well in sealed enclosures!

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I too would go with the aluminum cone Eclipse offering, a favorite of mine for years now.

JL is overrated.

Yes the W6 and W7 are fantastic subwoofers...the only ones I would even think about buying. With the 200 dollar limit he could get a 10W3. But they aren't even worth that to me. There are many other better options

But there are MANY other sound quality subwoofers out there. IA , SSA, SSA Dcon, Mach5Audio IXL10.2.2

I don't know about the newer eclipses. but the older ones were excellent sq subs (like 88100, sw8100 series)when they were built by tc sounds which is now audiopulse... I actually run 2  sw8102's - 1.25 cu ft per chamber in my daily driver and they are well above average for sq..... And yes the Type R is FAR from a sq sub.

check out image dynamics idmax (or idq for less power), adire brahma (or shiva for less power), infinity kappa perfects are really good sq subs also -i own three 10's one of which is ported tuned to 22 hz in a HT setup and its awesome,  Seas Lotus are a little more expensive but are supposed to be great also. the list goes on and on and you need to decide if you're going ported - typically sealed enclosures are best for sq,  and the type of bass you want because some of the best sq subs play alot of midbass and natural sound and not alot of spl (like the seas) while others have good sq and still provide alot of spl (like the id max for example). I also agree that JL is overrated and overpriced, there alot of comparable subs out there for a fraction of the price.
