Hi, I have an eclipse 2 channel 4Ohm amp and an eclipse dual 4ohm woofer.Can a dual voice coil sub have one voice coil wired to one channel of a two channel amp and the other voice coil wired to the other channel? Will it burn up the Woofer or amp? Has anyone out there done this before? If not I'm going to have to buy a dual 2ohm.

You can connect one coil to each channel of the amp. Yes I have done this.

I have also done this with no ill effects.

You can do this but make sure that both channels are tuned exactly the same. If they are not it could potentially cause damage to the driver.

on a 2 channel amp there is only one set of tuning controls, as well as a single gain therefore you will not have to worry about tuning them indvidually and making sure they are the same.

Even if there were 15 different adjustments, and they all 15 were out of whack, as long as you do not exceed the power rating of the speaker, the speaker will be fine.
