blown subs, now car lighting is dimming

Ok, so first things first. i apologize in advance if there has been a topic discussing this issue before, i'm new to this site as well as car audio stuff.

But anyways, my subwoofers recently made a loud "POP" sound which in term blew out my passenger subwoofer. After the subs made the loud pop sound, the interior/exterior lighting of my car keeps dimming and brightens up to normal ever 2-3 secoonds. Also, the driverside sub keeps making a light sound like a "pop" every couple of seconds that doesn't have anything to do with the music i'm listening too. So the first thing i did was take the sub over to the shop i got my amp/subs wired up to, and they told me that my subs are going out. every so often, the driverside sub intermittently powers up and then it dies out. i look at the led bulb on the side of my amp as well, and it randomly brightens up to a deep blue like it's supposed to, then it dims out to almost nothing.

What could be the problem? i checked my battery as well as the wiring and everything seems to be wired up fine, with nothing loose. I'm thinking that maybe the amp fuses are blown out, even though when i looked at them, they weren't blown or anything(the fuses look like they're really cheap quality, since the plastic top housing the fuse fell apart on me -_-).

I'm planning on buying another pair of subs later today, but i would rather not get them if they're just going to blow out on me if i were to plug them in. Thanks for the help in advance.

I would check the wiring again and i would not put new subs in till you have the amp tested. Also have you disconnected the blown sub??? You may be getting a short there  and that might be creating the power flashes. Another reason might be an alt lead or just as simple as a bad batt connection.

Sorry for the double post but with it poping ever 2 sec or so im betting its a ground lead. If you have a bad ground that could have cause the amp to clip blowing the one sub and would explain the noise you are hearing in the sub that is left. it will also make the amp turn on and off when you trying to play it. So like i said before double check the wireing especially the ground. If you have access to a volt meter get a reading at the batt and amp. that will tell you really fast.

i disconnected the blown subs, and i checked the battery connection as well. battery connection is fine.

Your amplifier has shorted output transistors.   The amp is turning on and noticing there is a problem.   It then turns off   immediately.   Then it thinks all may be well so it turns on again.   and repeats the process over and over.     What kind of amplifier is it?

the amp is a digital audio DAB2800x. Subs are Polk Audio DB124VC.

I am not familiar with that amp, and ampguts has no pictures of it.   Do you want to try and repair the amp?   I was going to ask if you could take a picture of the inside of the amp, but then I read your screenname.  If you want to try and repair it, I can help you.  I will PM my e-mail address so you can mail a pic, if you are interested in trying to repair it.
