I have a diamond audio d3 ten thats rated at 400rms 800max, i plan to run my alpine mrp-650 on it, i'm setting it up for 2ohms which means my amp will be at 600rms, how will my D3 react to 600rms? will it blow? or could it handle it due to 800max?

You can use that amp but you will need to set the gain correctly. If you do that then you will be fine and will not overpower your sub. To find out how to set the gain correctly use the search function on this forum. There is a tutorial on here that will explain it to you.

The max rating means nothing. They have no real use except for marketing.

You also need to put the sub in the correct enclosure. If it is in the wrong enclosure you can still damage your sub.

I say: "beat it 'till it CRIES"! LOL

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
