So here is my question. I have a Rx7. hatch. Box will be small and tight but workable. I can easily fit two 8's in a sealed enclosure. But I already have an older Eclipse Aluminum 10 layin around. Want to possible make a custom slot ported box with it. The sealed 8's would be a real straight forward rectangle box with a good .4 cu ft space. The ported I can do about .75 from the calculator I used. So my question is. Which do you believe I would get the most output from. I also have 2 different amplifiers so I have power for each and wiring capabilities. I haven't ever had a dual 8" box before. Always bigger. This car is small. And I can only do so much. I had the dual Eclipse 10's in my last car a few years back. Real decent SQ. Havent had a ported one in a while though. Anyways, feedback is much appreciated again and always. I hope I am making sense.

I would go with two 8's depending on how many watts they are. If your 10 is per say.....500 watts rms...and your two 8's combined are 350 watts rms...then i would do the 10. check to see which one will give you more wattage RMS. Then make your decision from there....

.75 cu ft is just enough for a sealed 10. Nowhere close to being enough room for ported.
Also .4 cu ft sealed for two 8's is too small IMO

What the hell does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Power ratings are completely out of left field for the purposes of this conversation. Also, the differences in output with the two power numbers you mentioned (350 and 500 watts), will make LESS than 1dB in total output change,
especially between one 10" at 500W and two 8's at 350W. (Additionally, the phrase is "
per se", and used incorrectly in this case. If you want to sound intelligent, do so intelligently.)

To the OP... Which woofers are they, brand name and models, please. Two 8's or a single 10 really won't do a whole hell of a lot in the SPL department, but for simply filling out the bottom end, either solution will perform nicely for you.
How much amplifier do you have? Make and model, here as well, please. Without actually knowing the gear you have, none of us can really help you well.
